Description
The ABB PM866 (such as the PM866AK01 and PM866AK02) is a high-performance CPU module belonging to the ABB AC 800M controller family, widely used in Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications for industrial automation.
PM866K02
Key Specifications and Features
Processor & Performance: Powered by an MPC866 processor running at 133 MHz, delivering fast execution times (approx. 0.09 ms for 1,000 boolean operations).
Memory: Features 64 MB of total RAM (with approximately 51.4 MB available for user applications) and integrated Flash memory for firmware and permanent data storage.
- * Redundancy Support: Available in non-redundant and redundant configurations (e.g., PM866AK02 supports CPU redundancy), allowing seamless switchovers in under 10 milliseconds to ensure high process availability.
- * Communication Ports: * Two onboard RJ45 Ethernet ports (CN1, CN2) for connecting to the Control Network using protocols like MMS and IAC.
- * Two serial RS-232C ports (COM3, COM4) for programming, debugging, and third-party device integration.
- * Expansion Options: Supports a CEX-Bus for communication expansion modules (such as PROFIBUS DP, MasterBus 300, and DriveBus) and a Modulebus for connecting up to 96 I/O modules (like S800 and S800L I/O systems).
- * Industrial Environment Compliance: Built to operate in harsh industrial conditions, carrying certifications such as IP20 protection, ISA Secure compliance, and various marine and hazardous location ratings (such as UL Ex Zone 2).
