Description

Bently Nevada 3500/15‑05‑05‑00 Dual Universal‑AC Power‑Supply Assembly

Product Description

The 3500/15‑05‑05‑00 is new‑generation dual redundant half‑height universal AC power‑supply assembly for Bently‑Nevada 3500 machinery‑protection rack system本特利. It consists of two sets of front converter board 106M1081‑01 + rear universal‑AC PIM; the suffix definition: first 05 = top‑slot Universal‑AC, second 05 = bottom‑slot Universal‑AC, 00 = no third‑party agency certification.

This wide‑range universal AC power accepts 85‑264 Vac global industrial mains input, converts into multi‑rail regulated DC power to feed backplane for all monitor, relay, gateway and TDI modules. Installed in dedicated half‑height power slots on the left side of 3500/05 chassis, operates in 1+1 hot‑standby parallel redundancy. Either single power unit can fully support a complete fully‑loaded rack, seamless automatic switch‑over occurs upon one unit failure without interrupting machinery‑protection operation.

Critical compatibility note: This is new‑generation universal‑AC hardware. Cannot electrically mix with legacy high‑voltage‑AC power components (127610‑01 +125840‑01). Mismatched legacy/new‑gen combination will cause hardware burnout. OEM production discontinued; supplied as aftermarket replacement spare for turbomachinery TSI racks. Country of Origin: USA.

Key Features & Benefits

  1. Global wide‑range universal AC input: Single hardware covers 110V‑120V and 220V‑240V industrial mains, no hardware re‑configuration needed for different regional power grids.
  2. 1+1 hot‑standby dual redundant architecture: Two universal‑AC power assemblies run in parallel. Automatic seamless switch‑over upon primary power failure, ensures zero interruption for critical machinery‑protection function, maximizes system uptime for turbomachinery assets.
  3. Comprehensive multi‑layer hardware protection: Fuse, over‑voltage, under‑voltage, over‑current, short‑circuit and over‑temperature protection safeguard rack backplane and all downstream monitor modules.
  4. Complete system‑level diagnostic reporting: Local SUPPLY‑OK LED visual indication; all power‑supply‑related faults transmitted over backplane bus and stored into rack event‑log for remote troubleshooting via TDI module.
  5. Clear hardware‑generation boundary: New‑gen universal‑AC platform, strictly forbidden to mix with legacy‑AC power boards (127610‑01 /125840‑01 series); mismatched front‑rear or cross‑generation combination causes permanent hardware damage.
  6. Full backward compatibility with 3500 ecosystem: Cooperates with 3500/05 rack chassis, 3500/22‑TDI gateway, 3500/32/33 relay‑output modules and all series monitor modules.

Application Fields

‑ Power‑generation, petrochemical and natural‑gas facilities: dual‑redundant universal‑AC power source for 3500 TSI machinery‑protection racks for steam‑turbine, gas‑turbine, centrifugal‑compressor and reciprocating‑compressor complying with API‑670 standard.‑ Global‑site projects with mixed‑voltage industrial mains, requiring wide‑range AC input and high‑availability redundant power.‑ Spare‑part replacement and retrofit for legacy 3500 racks originally equipped with 3500/15‑05‑05‑00 dual universal‑AC power‑supply assembly.

Installation and Maintenance

Installation

  1. Firmly mate front converter board 106M1081‑01 with matched universal‑AC rear PIM module to form complete single power unit. Install two complete assemblies into dedicated top & bottom half‑height power slots on left‑hand side of 3500 rack; bottom slot = primary power, top slot = backup power.
  2. Route 85‑264 Vac field AC power wiring onto rear‑PIM screw terminals, strictly comply with local electrical safety specifications.
  3. Apply AC input power; verify SUPPLY‑OK LED keeps illuminated for both power units. Inspect rack event‑log for power‑supply‑related diagnostic alarms, confirm all rack modules boot normally.

Important Note: Only rear‑side PIM supports hot‑swap under rack powered‑on condition (the other redundant power unit must remain healthy). Front‑side 106M1081‑01 board replacement must cut off corresponding slot power. Never hot‑swap the last working power‑supply unit; it triggers full‑rack power‑loss and machinery‑protection shutdown. Do not mix new‑gen universal‑AC hardware with legacy‑AC power components.

Maintenance

  1. Routine inspection: check rear‑PIM AC‑input terminals for dust accumulation, corrosion and loose wiring connections; observe front‑panel SUPPLY‑OK LED state.
  2. Periodically download rack event‑log to review power‑supply fault, under‑voltage or fuse‑blow diagnostic records.
  3. When rear‑PIM circuit fault occurs, perform hot‑swap replacement for rear PIM under rack powered‑on state (redundant unit must keep healthy), verify power‑supply output function.
  4. When front‑board hardware fault occurs, cut off corresponding slot power before replacing 106M1081‑01 board; reassemble with matched rear‑PIM module and verify full power‑supply‑function recovery.
  5. Avoid mechanical shock and conductive contamination during module‑handling. Refer to Bently‑Nevada official document Doc‑141530 (3500/15 Power‑Supply Datasheet & Operation Manual) for full installation constraints and detailed troubleshooting guidance.
